Bunco Girls Just Want to Have Some Fun! Part 1

‘Bunco’! Kari gets from her seat, giving a higher five to her friends. That was her 3rd bunco in a line, and she was getting the time of her life. Her mind has cleared of the ‘to accomplish’ and grocery lists magnetized to her refrigerator; the laundry sorted — but not started — within the basement; the lack of rest from her 12-month-old daughter’s regression to sleeping only four hours at any given time. Today is her night. She glances around at the green plates, cut fully out shamrocks hanging from light fittings, the green beer facing her, and the coveted Pot O’ Gold on the corner shelf. Their contents a secret until the champion of the night time is unveiled. As the game continues; thinking it was worth the scramble to locate natural clothing (perhaps not her best shade) for the St Kari smiles. Patrick’s Day topic bunco party. Why is this boisterous game of dice scattering in popularity across America? Why are women gathering with friends monthly, making room on their already crowded schedule for a nights attire unclear cube and surprisingly, cow bells? If they want a ‘night out with all the girls,’ why aren’t they heading for your neighborhood bar? Why? Since bunco babes just want to have fun! The regular bunco game becomes a date on the schedule to look forward to.. . . to let your hair down and be yourself, without worrying about a bar fly hitting on you, or why your best friend gets asked to dance, but you are not. Yes, a rousing bunco party could get a small loud and rowdy, but your ears won’t be calling as you try to go to rest from blasting dance band speakers, and unless you really get into that green beer (or wine, or multicultural), you will also feel much better within the morning! Are you a bunco babe just waiting to possess fun? You’ve enjoyed the game – or want to play the game, you’ve several friends you’d love to spend some time with, but you do not know where to begin? Listed here are ideas to simply help get you started.Find Festive FriendsThis will probably be the hardest part. Discovering 11 friends who wish to have a great time is easy. Discovering 11 friends who are reliable (will appear or find an alternate player), and who’ll just take their turn hosting a party is a bit more difficult. (It is not good for one person to have the duty every time: 12 players/12 months – PERFECT! )Scheduling Bunco NightThis is just about the next hardest action to take. Collect your 11 bunco pals together and examine your calendars. First find a DAY of the week which is apparently more unlikely a busy day or night.. . . Wednesday, Wed, Thursday, or weekends for many who have young kids and need their spouse house to baby-sit. Once that’s established, opt to meet on the first, 2nd, or third ‘that-day’ of the month… (i.e. the next Thursday of the month) and get marking on those calendars. This will give each of you a date each month to prevent booking other activities, and a date to look forward to as you count down to fun!Plan Upcoming PartiesIf you’re really structured, together you can prepare the upcoming year’s events and styles. This way you can produce on your schedule whose area is keeping the party, and what the concept is, so you can think ahead to what you’ll use, what food you might bring (if carrying out a potluck), or which party/theme you just MUST host! If you are not that organized, decide on the next 3-4 gatherings and give yourselves time to brainstorm for the rest of the schedule year’s activities. Make sure everyone gets a printed out list of bunco principles, and also make sure someone is gathering and piecing together a list of addresses/email addresses/phone variety of the party to be given out later. Now that ‘business’ is over, treat your friends to a great night of bunco, and send them home with smiles, prizes, and brains scrambling to think of the things they are planning to do to make their host-night ‘the top girls night ever.’Next newsletter: Part 2 of ‘Bunco Babes Just Want to Have Fun,’ including getting your bunco box ready, menu and prize ideas, and a whole lot more!
